Job Description

At Boost Air, we are looking for an SMS Officer to join our Compliance and Safety Department, based at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport.

The successful candidate will support the management and monitoring of the Safety Management System (SMS), contributing to risk identification and management, the analysis of safety occurrences and reports, and the monitoring of safety performance indicators.

We are looking for a candidate with a degree or background in aerospace engineering or aviation management, experience in airworthiness environments, and previous knowledge or experience in Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Key Responsibilities

Conduct operational safety risk assessments within the airworthiness environment.
Manage and analyse safety-related reports, incidents and occurrences.
Monitor occurrences and contribute to the identification of mitigation measures and improvement actions.
Monitor and track safety performance indicators and other SMS assurance activities.
Participate in the identification, assessment and monitoring of operational safety risks.
Promote a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Support the development of safety communications and safety promotion initiatives.
Prepare, review, update and control documentation and records associated with the Safety Management System.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the SMS and compliance with applicable operational safety requirements.

Requirements

Education

Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Aviation Management.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in an airworthiness environment.
Previous experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Knowledge of operational safety risk management.

Knowledge of safety reporting and occurrence analysis and management.
Ability to analyse information, identify risks and monitor them effectively.
Strong focus on safety, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Strong organisational, analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
High level of spoken and written English.
