Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Officer to join the team responsible for operational safety management and the Safety Management System (SMS).

The successful candidate will contribute to risk identification and assessment, event analysis, performance indicator monitoring and the promotion of a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the receipt, registration, filing and monitoring of system documentation and records.
Analyse incoming reports, determining what happened, possible causes and contributing factors, and document the findings.
Analyse safety publications and information to identify hazards and establish recommendations and mitigation measures.
Record and monitor overall safety performance indicators.
Prepare reports, minutes, presentations, surveys, procedures, guidance documents, plans and communications.
Deliver training, instruction and briefings related to safety requirements.
Carry out safety oversight activities, including surveys and on-site inspections.
Represent the SMS at meetings, briefings and audits.
Lead Safety Action Groups (SAGs) and provide guidance to personnel when making decisions in accordance with the operational safety policy.
Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging the use of the internal reporting system and the sharing of SMS-related knowledge.

Requirements

Experience

Experience in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and/or within the aviation industry.

Preferred Education

Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering (Technical Degree) or a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Aircraft Maintenance Technician.

Desirable Qualifications

University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, etc.) related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness.

Desirable Knowledge

Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Human Factors.
Risk management.
Airworthiness management and maintenance.
Aviation regulations.
Procedures and standards applicable to airport service providers.

Minimum Requirements

Good level of spoken and written English.

Desirable Additional Training

Aviation regulations (Part-M and Part-145).
Safety investigation.
EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System).
CDCCL (Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations).
Fuel Tank Safety.
Dangerous goods.
General or aircraft type-specific familiarisation.
